ARTS MATTER:

"When my daughter was about seven years old, she asked me one day what I did at work. I told her I worked at the college - that my job was to teach people how to draw. She stared at me, incredulous, and said, "You mean they forget?""

~Howard Ikemoto

Sitters Studio was founded in 2006 with the idea that arts matter. We believe that it is important to support the artists of today as well as share art with the future generation. And while most will not grow up and choose the life of an artist, it is this connection to the arts in youth that will prepare them for productive adult lives.

How Arts Improve Child Development:

1. Encouraging Self Expression

2. Increasing Motor Skills

3. Developing Problem Solving

4. Encouraging Creativity

We hope that through Sitters Studio we will create a community where people can support artists and artists can enrich children and society will be better as a result.
