BECOME AN ARTISITTER

Sitters Studio is unlike a traditional company because we staff artists (singers, actors, painters, dancers, etc.) as our babysitters. We seek to foster a community of creativity where artists pursue their dreams in the arts while sharing their artistic gifts with children. We believe babysitting should not only be safe, but should also be packed with artistic fun. We provide our artists with:

  • A FLEXIBLE schedule based on your availability
  • Ability to go on and off of the roster whenever necessary
  • FREE use of studio space
  • A community of other working artists

Interview Process

We accept on average 1 out of approximately 75 applicants. All applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of childcare experience to be considered. We put them through several interviews, which include situational questions to see how they would reason through difficult childcare situations. If they score high enough on these questions we require them to provide at least 3 childcare references from non-family members.

References

After the interview, Artisitter® providers undergo three 18-point reference checks. These references must be childcare related and can not be family members. They must verify that the candidate has more than 3 years of childcare experience as well as speak highly of the candidate’s character.

Artisitter® Caregivers must agree to an FCRA background check. Unlike online sites that search databases, frequently outdated or with incorrect information, our search company does in-person checks which provides the most current information. As quoted from our background check company:

 

“Our experience in checking hundreds of nannies has taught us that it takes a multi-layered Criminal Check, Bankruptcy, Judgments & Liens Search, Social Security/Address Trace, Education Verification, DMV Driving Report, and an in-person County criminal court search to make up a background check that will give your children the protection they deserve.”

Orientation

Once they complete the interview process, and are hired, new Artisitters must attend an all-day orientation in our office where we review our policies and procedures. We also train new artisitters in our Culture of Safety and other brand standards all designed to set our new artisitters up for success, both at Sitters Studio and in their artistic careers.
