100 years ago this spring the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky and Ballets Russes premiered The Rite of Spring, a revolutionary work of music and ballet that was so different from everything audiences had ever heard that the first performances were considered scandalous. Now, a century later, the music is not quite so revolutionary but still has surprising power. It’s never too early to introduce your child to the vast world of classical music.
